Scrolling through millions of items (Part 1 of 2)

I wrote a small article about how to let your application scroll through millions of items in realtime.

Have fun with the article: http://www.christian-kienle.de/Drawing

It is the first of two articles. The next article about this topic will contain a demo application and the whole source code.

Big in Japan?

When looking at the statistics I recognize, that it seems that Ebbinghaus is "popular" in Japan. About 10% of my visitors are coming from Tokio. Yeah amazing.

It also seems that mac.egoism.jp is a popular Japanese mac website. Ebbinghaus is linked there. Ebbinghaus has received a 4 of 5 star rating from the users of mac.egoism.jp. Thank you for that. It motivates. :-)

What is going on here?

My server is down. I cannot access my own website anymore. Why? I can't tell you exactly but what I see in the statistics of my website and of my blog is, that the number of visitors increased extremely.

As as consequence of that I will consider asking my provider to make my web server more powerful so that all the request can be fulfilled in the future.

I don't know where these visitors come from. But I will find out. :-)

Icon of the week: Export

Here is the "export" icon which I am using in Ebbinghaus to indicate an export functionality. The icon is semitransparent and the writing "EXPORT" is also readable if the icon becomes very tiny.

Have fun with it.
